Love the Active Rain contests and find it interesting that discussion on this one has a slight tangent to the points being awarded. Some members have an opinion that points are too high, and that only regular blogging should produce those kinds of points, while others think that a contest like this is a good way for newer bloggers to "catch up" with others, or "pass up" AR deadbeats who haven't posted in months or years...whatever....I really have no opinion either way...I tend to like contests of any kind! And if it involves points, all the better.
Stefan Swanepols new book promises to be right on the shelf with Harvey McKays "Swim with the Sharks", Seth Godins "Purple Cow" and Spencer Johnsons "Who Moved My Cheese"... A great insight into the different personality types in this business. Have you taken the test yet? Did you agree with the results?
Having lived in Africa during his "formative" years, it wasn't until a recent visit that Stefan was inspired to write this business book, acclaimed by some as "the best business book" I have ever read! The book was officially released yesterday 2-22-11. If you'd like the first two chapters FREE, check it out, then order if you are hooked like most! It turns out that I am a enterprising crocodile...not too surprising to me. I can agree with the traits: " If like the crocodile you are an enterprising and resourceful person you see the opportunities by keeping your mind open and active. You understand that by being creative, confident and bold enough to seize the opportunities that present themselves, and you have the ability to influence the outcome of future events." After 4100 have taken the quiz, turns out I am in the majority so far, 27% are also enterprising crocodiles...wonder if that result is swayed because most taking the test are in real estate and tend to have some of the same traits to be successful?
Stefan does a great job of identifying the Serengetti animals, their traits and relating that to the business world and personality types within.
