If you haven't already seen Surviving your Serengeti: An ActiveRain Challenge, go see it NOW, because today is the last day to fulfill the challenge requirements!
Reading the first two chapters of the book was fun and easy. The veldt of West Africa is an exotic place that i hope to go one day -- and a wonderful setting for this business metaphor.
I'm not going to give too much away about the first two chapters of the book -- except to say that it does leave you wanting more -- I'm looking forward to the full book release!
After you read the chapter, take the quiz. According you your answers, you will be given an animal in your quiz results.
I wondered what animal I was going to end up being. I was kind of hoping for the mighty lion. After all, my name most often makes people think of Richard the Lionheart!
But my lion dreams were not meant to be, for I was awarded the Giraffe. The graceful Giraffe at that!
So how does my giraffe status apply to real estate?
Yup - this one sure is important in real estate! Whether working with buyers or sellers, it's all about the client. Elevating oneself above one's clients is a recipe for disaster.
How can anyone be successful in real estate without this quality? Realtors subscribe to a code of ethics. If you can't conduct your business following and exceeding these standards, your clients will suffer.
A line from the quiz results says:
"Grace represents style, finesse, kindness, and above all, doing the right thing - a quality that will always advance our purpose in life, no matter what it is."
I am now happy that I am a giraffe instead of a lion. It sounds like giraffes live by the golden rule -- One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself. A maxim I use in both my every day life and business life.
