If you are a home owner looking to list your home, and you are considering several agents for the job, take a look at some of their other listings.  Do you see enough pictures?  Are they high quality photos, that allow a buyer to get a sense for the home?  How about the description?  Did the agent take the time to write enough about the features of the home, or did they leave this portion blank or virtually blank?  If you do not see an adequate number of photos, and a well written summary of the home, do not consider this agent!  Marketing your property properly is the best way to ensure that the Seller gets as many showings as possible, and top dollar for your home.  The photos and description in the MLS are the bare minumum, and if your listing agent fails to market your property to this bare minimum, you can be sure that they are going to cut corners in most all other areas.

A listing agent should take pride in their new listing, and should present your home with pride!  Do not settle for less than the represenation that you deserve and are entitled to when selling your home!

I agree, pictures are so important and it is not that difficult to hire someone to help you.  With the rise of buyers looking at the internet, pictures are very important to help selling a place.  Thanks for your post

I agree completely.  I cannot stand when you pull up a listing on the MLS and there are no pictures.  It makes no sense.  It cheats your seller and it shows how lazy you are as an agent.  There is no doubt that pictures included help immensely with the sale of your listing.  People are trusting you with a product that is multiple 100,000's, you should respect that and give them what they ask for.

Quality photos of a listing should be part of every listing an agent takes. Limited, awful or pictures that don't reveal the home next door that's falling down aren't good.

Amen, James. This brings up 2 thoughts for me: 1) unbelievable that more sellers do not seem to LOOK AT what their agent has or hasn't done...versus what their competition is doing. And 2) I'm not normally a suspicious person, but sometimes I wonder if these agents aren't misrepresenting (or under-representing) the property in order to increase their chances of double-ending the property?
