If you saw these rooms in person, you could quite easily make assumptions about their purposes, just due to where there are in a house.

However, if you are looking for a home and you see these photo online, do you guess at what you're seeing or wonder what this space could be? Do you hear yourself saying, "what's this?"

I'm hoping that you say the after shots because I know that when a potential buyers sees photos, like these afters, they will want to see more. Then they will call for a discussion and perhaps a showing. They will not likely just move on to the next online listing due to lack of interest.

Ginger ~ Of course your "After" shots are WAY more appealing! You did a great job defining the function of each space and using color to add interest. The agents who put "before" shots on the MLS like your examples are doing such a disservice to their sellers. A little effort goes a long way to create online appeal. You did both with your great staging and photos!

Ginger--well, I'm voting for the "after" photos. A buyer would probably never even go into the property if the "before" photos were all there were in the MLS. Boring white walls aren't all that interesting.

Janet, thanks for the vote. I just laugh when I see shots like these on MLS and I wonder what was this agent thinking???? I know that potential buyers don't even take the time to think about it, they just move on.

Thank you Diana. When I see photos like this I shake my head and make comments. I wonder what potential buyers say?

Janice, the owner absolutely refused to paint these rooms anything but white, in all of those rooms, so I had to add some color to increase the visual interest. Thanks for commenting.

I love the soft aqua in the office Ginger. You are so right about the online pictures. It's bad enough in person but square empty rooms online will not bring anyone to the door.
