Port Huron area--Marysville to be exact-- pipe line to be ready by July 1, 2011.
This is the pipeline that stretches from Griffith, Ind. to Sarnia, Canada; this section of the line was reduced in 2009 after a 'dent' was discovered under the St. Clair River.

For those in the know, this IS the same pipe line that ruptured last July; that section was near Marshall, MI in the SW section or area of the pipeline. There we saw the spill of 800,000 gallons of oil.

The crews from Enbridge Inc. have removed 3,500 feet of damaged pipe using the tunnel under the St. Clair River from Marysville to the Canadian side.  New valves will be installed on both the Canadian & U.S. sides, as well as the removal oil from the damaged old pipe section.  Note: the Enbridge, Inc. company had announced this project after the rupture in Marshall, MI.   When work on the new section is complete, the old pipe section will be decommissioned.

Look for the announcement in summer-with the date being projected as "before July 1st"

Mt Clemens , MI has a very important person among it's ranks.
Otis Hopson
turned 93 earlier this year on Tuesday March 22;
Otis has been the courthouse's 'showshine' man for the last 20 years;
Otis has a smile and a good word for anyone coming into or leaving the Courthouse who is willing to acknowledge his presence;
Otis
had his harmonica with him & he would play it beautifully;
Otis lives by the philosophy of "JOY":
 "Jesus First;...Others next;....Yourself last";

Otis
is a 'beautiful ' man inside and out;
His smile and gracious 'recognition' of others is an experience in true Religious-fashion;

To meet and greet Otis, is to see the Lord's Hand in his life.
Should you ever find yourself in the Mt. Clemens Courthouse--do look for Otis--he will shine your soul & offer a great showshine too.

Barb,

I like Otis' philosophy on life.  It's Joy filled now and the retirement benefits are "out of this world."

Best,

Steve

Ellen...Michigan does have some good growth; just hard to find within all the negatives about the Budget, which is being dealt with daily.  Otis--if I could have had a photo of his smile, you would see his inner beauty-if that can be said about a Man.  He teaches us all...Thanks for your comment. Have a great week.

Steve... Otis is a real breath of "Goodness" isn't he.  He is 'lit up when you see his smile, too'.  He genuinely likes his life, his position & all the people he meets.  What a wonderful 'star' he will make when he moves on to meet his Lord.  I am sure that his inner-spirit will shine bright in our skies.  Thanks for your comment. Have a great week.
