The cynic in me thought two things:
- The far right wouldn't believe that Bin Laden is dead, only that Obama shaved his beard.
- The far left wouldn't just say this is good for the Country and Humanity, but utilize it as a tool to continue to bash anything that is Republican (or far right).
God, I was hoping I was wrong. And WOW, I'm naive as hell.
I haven't changed the title to this post because I was going to bash the Left-Wing Media like they were Mike Tyson's Girlfriend back in his glory days.
I was going to sit here and opine about the News Coverage on Bin Laden finally being taken out and how bad I thought the Left-Wing Media (MSNBC, in particular) handled it. I didn't watch Maddow, who I like and respect. Don't want to lump her with the coal. Not yet, at least. The others though, they went and started on a Bush Crusade which I thought unnecessary on every level. In fact, I was kind of hoping that our beloved Media (including contributors to this forum) wouldn't make it Political at all. But they did ... of course they did.
And it reminds me once again of Radicals. Back in the day, I used to think being a Radical was a pretty good thing, a cool thing. Then, I entered the Real World and saw and read and felt what Radicals of any Nature actually do ... divide and undermine. Sometimes they revolutionize, but I'm not sold on that with Today's Breed of Bullshit. While I don't mind differing positions on philosophies and issues, I do mind hating for the sake of hating. And that's what I'm seeing and reading and feeling, even after all of this.
Being a Radical isn't just disagreeing with someone. Being a Radical isn't just playing with your nipples as the sun goes down. Being a Radical is a trait I don't want to behoove on anybody.
In Retrospect, I shouldn't have entitled this post "When the Left ain't Right ... " , I should have entitled it, "You ain't God ..." and we'll all find out the truth, the whole truth, eventually. Or, so we think and believe ..
