An Evening of Music to Support Music Education in Canton MA
MusicCounts (Canton's music booster organization) is hosting an Evening with the Chris Wood Band at Canton's own Turnpike Cafe on Saturday May 14th at 7:00 pm. There is a $15.00 cover charge that includes light appetizers. There will also be a cash bar and raffles. The owners of the Turnpike Cafe (one of my favorite Canton eateries, by the way) have generously donated the restaurant for this event. The Chris Wood Band features Canton residents Jim DeMaggio (on drums) and Al Reese (on bass).
This is a great opportunity to get out (without the kids) and enjoy some great music and conversation with your friends and neighbors, while supporting the good works of MusicCounts. You do not need to be a MusicCounts member so everyone is encouraged to attend this adults-only night out.
MusicCounts helps fund extra-curricular music groups for children in all of Canton's public schools, in addition to providing funding for private lessons scholarships to children who otherwise may not be able to afford private lessons. It is run completely by volunteer parents and music teachers from the Canton Public Schools.
The Turnpike Cafe, family owned and operated since 1954, is located at 958 Turnpike Street (Route 138) in Canton MA.
There is always something going on in Canton MA! This event represents Number 9 in my ongoing series of 31 Things to do In May in Canton MA.
