Silent Saturday - Turtle Hill

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Venture Realty International

I spent some time today exploring in my Jeep in Southwestern Wyoming and found Turtle Hill.  It received this name because people have found fossil turtles.  Arrow heads are sometimes found on top of the hill.

Let's see - you're in Nevada, you sell Latin American properties, and today you were in Wyoming. You really get around Gary!

Karen, It makes life interesting.  I am actually building a house for my mom in the mountains of Wyoming.  I grew up on a ranch nearby and still love the state except for the cold.  I guess that explains my interest in Latin America.  I've also posted a few times about Utah and Europe.  You'll have to follow my blog and see what happens next.

This is a very beautiful part of Wyoming, the land of Butch Cassidy in his time.

Dan, I'm glad you think that this part of Wyoming is pretty -  a lot of people only like the mountains and trees.

Kristine, Thank you. It is a beautiful state and has a huge variety of landscapes. I've always enjoyed the unique views in the desert portions.

Alison, Thank you.I'll try to post some more that you might enjoy soon.

Gary,

It doesn't hurt that the mound looks like a turtle shell. Great shots. :)

Elizabeth, If you ever get a chance to visit Wyoming, you should.  I am positive that you will love it.

Steve,  The first people that I talked to thought that it was named for the shape.  It was only when I talked to some others who live right by the hill that I found out the real reason for the name.  You have a great eye to pick out the shape in my photo.

Gary, to me it seems like some of the most inhabitable  areas are the most beautiful.   Thanks for sharing the pictures.
