Meeting fellow Active Rain agents

One of the things I like about attending training meetings, is the networking opportunities. Last week, I attended Mark Taylor's "World Domination Tour" and met a fellow active rain member.

Michael O'Donnell, a Realtor® with Prudential, is a soft spoken professional with a great niche in the Phoenix, AZ real estate market - he specializes in home sales for the physically handicapped. He and is partner, who is wheel chair bound herself, KNOW the difficulties associated with physical limitations and work hard to help identify which properties will be appropriate.

Michael is newer to Active Rain and I hope you will all welcome him. He does such a great job for people who need someone just like him in the Phoenix real estate market.

Michael, it was great meeting you in person and I hope to have the opportunity to work with you in the future. I think your niche in the Phoenix real estate market is AWESOME.

Thanks, Beth. Michael really impressed me with the market niche he and his partner have in the Phoenix real estate market.

The presentation was good if you're new to Active Rain and blogging. If you have experience, then I think the more indepth RainCamp will be much better. Lot's of energy and enthusiasm, but I took two newer Active Rain members with me and they were LOST with some of the things they were talking about. They gave a lot of information in a very short time and, unless one were already active on Active Rain, it would probably be over their head. BUT, they offer other "mini" classes on specifics and my friends will probably attend those more indepth sessions.

Good to see members promoting other members that offer special services. Two of the agents in our office have worked with deaf clients for many years. Others focus on the needs of the elderly.

Thank you for the kind words. I am humbled by your comments. I must confess, it took me a while to figure out that working with clients with disabilities had a "feel good" component to it, but also that it was also an enormous business opportunity.

In the ARMLS service area (Maricopa County and Western Pinal) there are over 480,000 people with physical disabilities. Persons with disabilities are the second largest minority in the United States with just over 43,000,000 of our fellow citizens with physical challenges as of the 2010 Census!

I shared with you that one of my earlier blogs talked about my odyssey in arriving at this particular niche. I guess sometimes you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Again, thank you for your kindness. I, too, hope we have an opportunity to work together in the future.

Wow, Michael, I remember you quoted the numbers when we met, but didn't realize how much of a need there is for a Phoenix real estate agent specifically helping those with physical disabilities. Keep up the great work - you're needed.
