Fall in Roswell Georgia

By
Real Estate Agent with Referral Associates of Georgia, Inc.

I love the weather here in the ATL.  Sure, it's hot in the summer, but you just can't beat the weather here the rest of the year.  Yes, we're in the South, but there is a definite change of seasons here.  Fall is my favorite.

I've had all my windows upstairs open for the past 2 days.
The temperature has only reached about 70° - give or take a degree or two - and I'm loving it!
The air feels wonderful and I love the sound of the wind playing in the trees.
There are leaves on the ground and my poochie, Neisa, is having a blast chasing them.

By Sunday, the temp is supposed to reach 79 - and will remain in the upper 70's for the rest of the week.
I'm hoping that the 80 plus temps are gone for the year and that this delightful weather will stay with us for a while.

Here's the Mutt's Comic strip from 9/29/07.
It certainly represents how I'm feeling about the weather right now!

Nancy,

Lucky you! To live in a place with real seasons. Here we have light rain (season one) and heavy rain (season two!) We actually do have a summer, but from Oct-May, it's pretty much the same!

Nancy- I love the fall here in Florida and the winters. Sometimes I miss the seasons. We do not leaves change or snow and once in a while it would be nice to experience the change of seasons. It is still too warm yet to open our doors and windows. But I love it when we do that! Katerina

Sara - I don't know how you do it.  If i rains for more that 2 or 3 days in a row, I get very melancholy and sometimes blue!  Come and visit anytime!

Katerina- I was born and raised in Miami so I know what it's like there.  I used to spend Christmas day at Crandon Park Beach with my childhood best friend Teri Miller and her family and my winter breaks were spent out at the pool at the Roney Plaza on Miami Beach with my grandmother.

Nancy, I find Fall the most anticipated season of all after the summer heat - it's just a question if we will have a colorful Fall each year.  Spring is a pleasant turn, too, but we know it will always get green, Karen

Nancy - I love Roswell, but haven't been there in years. I hear the Lickskillet Farm closed down. Did they ever reopen it?

Tom -

The Lickskillet farm is closed.  You wouldn't recognize the area any more.  The building where the restaurant was is still there but all run down.

Back in the late 1980's/early 90's I rented a townhouse on the corner of Old Roswell and Mansel Roads.   My boyfriend at the time and I used to walk down to the Lickskillet with large empty coffee containers and pick wild black raspberries on the side of the street across from the restaraunt.

Ahhh, what memories.

Nancy- Such a shame. I have wonderful memories of that place and made a point of dining there every time I visited Atlanta.

I was afraid that when I moved down here from NY that I wouldn't see the season changes anymore and boy was I wrong!  I absolutely LOVE it down here in the fall, and the spring for that matter.  It's cool enough at night that you need a blanket, but warm enough during the day for shorts and flip flops still.  Gotta love it!
