Its hot and school is out and many families are looking for quick "day trips" from the Gold Canyon and East Phoenix Arizona Valley areas. We have compiled a list of fun "family friendly" adventures that should be easy for families to get to, enjoy and get back home all in a day. Hard for me to imagine hot weather now....and I still think it's funny when people say it may be hot but at least it's dry.
Having been in both types of hot weather -- dry (Dallas) and humid (Orlando), I'm glad I'm in Alameda CA.

Lots to do in your area, Bob and Carolin! I have always wanted to see the petrified forest! Good advise with temps that hot to drink lots of water and protect yourself from the sun!

Great idea to provide a list of things to do, but a good selling point to prospects moving into te area. They have that immediate list of to do and entertainment from a valued source their realtor!!! Great job!

That is a great list for newcomers and locals. We have had some high temps for the Charlotte NC area this summer, so anything with water sounds good to me. Seems like everyone has had a hot summer this year!

I love doing days trips with my kids. We used to do them all the time but now as they get older, it seems like we do it less. But what wonderful memories we have from some of our adventures! This is a great list and resource for families.

Nice collection of links! I've done seven! Ha. Just enjoyed the zoo with my grand daughter from WI this summer - thank goodness for the misters!! And we went as it opened!
