I'm pretty comfortable with admitting that there's a percentage of the social media sphere that either doesn't like me, my style or even the site of me. Me knowing and agreeing with this means I can be more confident about energizing with those that do like me. I can network with those that will benefit me through friendship & referral. Notice referral came second.
There's a large number of reasons why people may not be responding to your bogs/threads/tweets or posts.
1. They don't know you.
2. They don't like the way you look in your profile picture.
3. Your posts are arrogant, obnoxious and all about your business area.
Some of you are wondering if you want to be friends with someone who judges you based on your profile picture.... and that's okay, but people do, they judge you based on your PICTURE. It's human nature, and there's nothing ever going to change about it.
Ask these questions about yourself if you aren't getting engaged enough through social media:
1. Do you look foolish, silly or obnoxious in your photo?
2. Is your profile picture of a house, object, QR Code, company logo or Animal?
People want to get to know YOU, not Keller Williams, your bird, or some QR Code. They can't "always" do this if you are masquerading behind something that isn't displaying your God given FACE. Be realistic about your photo, too. If you are body builder don't take your shirt off and kiss your biceps in the photo, nobody likes a cocky looking person who thinks they are God's Gift to the Internet.
You can't just post and expect people to COME to you with comments, smiles and genuine connection. These relationships take time, effort, work and lots and lots of patience.
You don't meet someone at the local coffee shop and become best buds do you? No. It takes TIME. Just like good home cooked meals, they don't cook and melt in your mouth as soon as you pull them out of the grocery bag. Beer, Wine, Liquor and even meat all taste better with time.
Anything worth having is worth working & waiting for. Focus on GIVING and the receiving will take care of itself.
