Whirlwind Road Trip Across 4 States and Colorado is Still The Prettiest!

My husband, Craig and I decided to take a quick vacation.  We could have been like normal people and booked an airplane ticket to Las Vegas and back, but no.....  I had the wild idea to drive and take in the scenery.

766 miles each way was a lot of ground to cover in four days.  Luckily we had a good mystery on CD that kept us entertained for part of the way.  The rest of the time, he was stuck with just spending time with me.

We went through four states on the way there and four states on the way back.  Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Nevada.  There were parts of Utah that were scenic and nice to look at but the rest of the trip was - YAWN - boring.

Coming home, we stopped and took some pictures at the summit of Vail which is about 11,000 feet above sea level.  Take a look for yourself and see if these views don't just knock your socks off.

That's a lot of driving Belinda.  And I guess you didn't break the bank in Vegas since  you are back to blogging.  Nice pictures too.

Belinda-you sure were a blogging beast during that car ride! I have friends and family in your neck of the woods, and have to agree, it is beautiful country-the vistas, the big sky-love it. Hope you had a great time and are ready to greet August with open arms!

Belinda, I did not know you left until chatting with Will!   Hope you won some money, you left off that little detail!   It is always nice to get away.

Jerry,  We had a great time even though it was lots of driving.

Martha, It was great to get away and chill out.  I didn't deal with real estate once.

John,  It is sad that you had the fires to contend with this summer.

Jim,  Didn't break the bank.  They broke us....

Judith,  Didn't win big so its back to the grindstone.

Will,  a plane???  How boring is that???

Denise,  Didn't win big but then its hard to win big when you are only playing 50 cents at a time.

Marie,  Took my new iPad2 but didn't blog on the road.  I had a blog in draft form which I had Will go in and change to public for me.

Joan,  It was a nice break from reality.

Glad you enjoyed the trip, through it all. Reminds me of when I got the idea one year to dig my own backyard pool after watching something on T.V. No, that didn't work out too well.
