Thomas Jefferson's Second Thoughts
It sometimes happen that you read something written long ago, and suddenly you notice how relevant it is to our time. It is difficult for us to sort what is happening today, bot for someone being able to understand things that were so distant, they were not noticeable to anyone takes an enormous power of mind.
Read this comment written by a wise man. Just thhink how smart we collectively and individually were.
And also think how our forefathers cared about the country, and ot about next election
It is all about priorities.
Real priorities
Sometimes we have second thoughts about an important decision we've made - call it buyer's remorese, a change of heart, cold feet, or just being cautious.
After the Constitution was written, Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and 3rd President of the US, offered a comment that is so insightful and relevant for our current time.
Clearly he was interested in having United States survive and could anticipate our current situation:
"I wish it were possible to obtain a single amendment to our constitution. I would be willing to depend on that alone for the reduction of the administration of our government to the genuine principles of its constitution; I mean an additional article, taking from the federal government the power of borrowing."
