Rivoli Theatre Marquee to Be Restored by Actors - Real Estate Recovery - South Fallsburg NY

By
Real Estate Agent with SHAHAR Management

The Rivoli Theatre located on Laurel Avenue & Route 42 in South Fallsburg was built in 1923.  It was a major source of both live and film entertainment during those years of Jewish summer resorts in this region of the Catskill Mountains.

Rivoli Theatre
The front marquee is a 3 sided neon sign supported by chains with a vertical neon sign on the front.  The lobby and foyer are in their original size and shape but have been renovated over the years with newer materials.   In 2001 the Rivoli was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Today a local arts group continues to put plays on there every summer and their interest has turned to refurbishing the theater's marquee.  They are trying to raise $27,000 that will match a grant from the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

To donate please visit scdw.net or call 845-436-5336.

Debra, I love it when the community steps up. I find it is more valuable than when the government throws a grant. Here there is meaning, motivation and want to restore the valuable landmark. What a great story for Real Estate!

Debbie, I'm up that way every summer and had no idea that it was being used for local theatre. The things you learn playing in the rain.

HI Debbie,

that is what real sense of community recovery is all about, to celebrate, protect and enhance the past present and future, in your case all in one very cool building and project, right on.

Hello Debra and I love old theaters and they are getting tore down in some cities & towns, it's a shame! We almost purchased a old Theater in northern Minnesota for around 65K many moons ago.
