SMS (text messaging) is slowing growing up in the US; many companies are now realizing the power of text messaging. No longer is the text message bound to college campuses and high schools across the nation. With the ability to reach people anywhere, instantly there are plenty of companies looking to harness this medium. This is where Joopz steps in.
Joopz is a web based text messaging service. There are many websites out there that allow you to send text messages to cell phones for free, but Joopz takes it one-step further. Where Joopz shines is in its ability to allow the business professional to use the program easily and effectively. The key ingredient in making Joopz business ready is their Outlook plug-in. You no longer have to go to a website and send out text messages or pick up your phone and type out 10 different messages to 10 different people.
Outlook Plug-in
The Joopz Outlook plug-in adds text-messaging capabilities to Outlook, allowing you to send text messages to any of your Outlook contacts. When a text message is sent it creates a chat like dialog box making it easy to have text message conversations, Joopz also allows you to save the conversations for future reference. The Outlook plug-in although convenient does not offer all of Joopz features such as group texting, so Joopz is working on a desktop application that will provide all of Joopz features on your computer.
Forwarding and Schedule Reminders
Another couple of note worthy features Joopz has built into the system is SMS forwarding and scheduled reminders. With forwarding, you can send out a text through the Joopz system and not have to stay near a computer to receive the response, any message sent to your Joopz account will be forwarded to your cell phone. Joopz also allows you to schedule reminders and events anytime in the future, no longer forgetting that meeting or conference call.
Cost
Joopz is partly a free service. Offering a free basic plan of 50 outgoing text messages a month (unlimited incoming); along with most other features such as group messaging, forwarding, scheduled reminders, and basic contact management. The Outlook plug-in however only comes with the premium service (except for the 1 month free trial you get to start with), so if your company is itching to get on-board with text messaging and wanted integrated Outlook software (or the upcoming desktop application) it will cost $2.95 a month or $19.95 a year (per user).
Text messaging is only expected to grow in the US, and with Joopz providing business worthy applications many companies may start looking towards text messaging to get work done.
