After a relatively dry summer a year ago, the monsoon storms typical of Arizona have made repeated visits to Glendale and the rest of the West Valley.
While the "haboob" of early July captured the national headlines, this week's dust storm rose 3,000 feet into the sky and swept across the Valley with wind gusts well over 50 miles per hour.
And more important, it made for some dramatic views over Glendale's Westgate City Center, which is home to the Phoenix Coyotes and Jobing.Com Arena, the Arizona Cardinals and University of Phoenix Stadium, and many restaurants and shops including Margaritaville and the Yard House.
By the way, there also are a number of multi-story townhouses available for sale at Westgate.
