I received a MEME from Mary Warren a couple weeks back and really tried to put this out of my mind! Well, I didn't really know what a MEME was--I called my friend, Marchel and asked her, "What the heck is a MEME?" Well, I was not going to do that! I only really tell my close friends about me and there is nothing very interesting anyway! Ok, I see I was being stubborn! You asked for it Mary...
#1. I was born in Kansas City, Mo (photo at left of-MEME at 1 yr old) and the youngest of three children. My brother, Ronnie (at right)was the oldest, but I was actually the closest with him. He went to Vietnam, came home and was killed in a truck wreck the following year. We never found out who ran him off the road. My sister, Sherry, died in 1989. I believe due to these happenings, I treasure my family and friends. My friends are my family.
#2. I have been married for 25 years to a great guy named Jeff. He is a Safety and Environmental Manager and is over the safety of several plants all across the country and Canada. I couldn't ask for a better husband. I have two sons, Ryan and Rick. Ryan-32, is so kind-- we have a special bond as for a time before I met Jeff it was just the two of us. I won't talk about the divorce! lol Ryan got married last September to a lady named Sara with whom he had went with for eight years. He is a sports fanatic! He was in the army and was discharged just before 9-11. He works at The Men's Wearhouse corporate office as a supervisor. My youngest son, Rick-21 and (6'4") is a Senior in College. He is so intelligent and gifted that he amazes me more with each passing day. He truly takes care of Mom--My car, computer, stereo, my gun, my house! Whatever is broken he can fix or build it. He comes home most weekends as his "stuff is here"(I like to think he comes home to see ME!l) I am so proud of them both, they are my inspiration and the meaning of my being. I love them dearly! When it is all said and done, I have done something right!! (gee, that even makes me gag) All true though! Photo-Rick is on the left and Ryan on the right at his wedding.
#3. I was raised on a 600 acre ranch in Missouri. We had many head of cattle and I had horses and rode competitively. Barrel racing, pole bending and pleasure mostly. Needless to say, I love animals! I have a persian cat, Barkley and an African Grey parrot, Rosey. When I was young we had a pet monkey. During the summer he stayed outside (remember we had 600 acres) if he wanted to. His name was Spooky and was a happy little guy.
#4. I love Real Estate and guess it is in my blood. My grandmother was a Realtor in Bonner Springs, Ks. for many years and my parents had numerous real estate holdings. Two good friends got in to Real Estate along with me here in Houston 14 years ago. My sister-in-law Jacki, is a Realtor in Houston as well. Due to Real Estate I have made some very good friends-not just acquaintances!
#5. Not many people know I was a Private Investigator before I got into Real Estate-was interesting. I worked in the accounting department of an oil company, and years ago worked at a newspaper. I believe I came away with so much from each career move.
I am calling on Shellee Ashmore and Bridget Armstrong
My phototographer (Shellee Ashmore) did a wonderful job with Barkley & Rosey. She is quite remarkable with the camera.
