I Believe in the Magic of the Rain!
I've been trying to write more localism posts and have been marketing my biz at the same time.
I've had a lot of positive feedback recently. I've had 2 gigs, totally unrelated to each other on different weeks, but because I'd written a localism post about each, I had people approach me at each event and tell me my blog was how they'd found out about that particular event!
The first was my stint as the Flufftastic Fairy in the Spruce Grove Chamber of Commerce parade. I had someone tell me they'd found out about the parade time from googling Spruce Grove Chamber Parade and my blog came up!
The next was my blog about where I grew up in South Cooking Lake and the fact I was going there to make balloon animals for the Trail Days event there. I had arrived (after driving around the hamlet to see what's new [everything !]) and pulled up by some people to see where the best place to park, out of the way, was. They told me right there and so I got out and started to put on my costume. (Since it was such a beautiful day I had L'il Miss's top down and was driving in shorts and tank top)
The one lovely Lady says; "I know who you are!"
And I said "Yes?" (Lot's of times I have people say that because they've seen me in a commercial, a play, face painting, at another balloon gig, or doing one of my other jobs... so I usually wait for them to tell me how they know me...)
She said "You're here to make balloons!"
I said "yes!"
She says "And you're here from 2- 4 pm!"
I said "yes! (?)"
She said "But then you have to leave because it's your parents anniversary!"pause
HOLY CRAP! I just started to laugh because I knew Active Rain had put me up near the top when she had googled South Cooking Lake Trail Days.
How's that for Rain Power!?!
