William, you could be the official photographer for SO MANY GROUPS. This ship's a beauty. Long long ago, my one and only rendezvous with San Diego involved a military man....but we won't go into that.

Hi Ruthmarie, actually both of those things are true, I was very close and did use a telephoto. Now, I will also admit that I was on the edge of the pier and it wouldn't have taken much of wind to land square in the water, LOL

Good Morning Dorie, Thank you. I must say that when it comes to our military here San Diego ( a significant part of San Diego's economy) the city and citizens alike  look to preserve and treat our people in uniform with the utmost in respect and give them every possible advantage in having a quality of life. Honoring them enjoins the entire society and is done with sincere enthusiasm and appreciation for their efforts and sacrifices.

Good Morning Kristine, thank you so much. The city does so much in providing the recognition for our armed services. And the community loves these events and supports them with a lot of enthusiasm.

Hi Judi, Thank you so much. I searched in Google today and this post didn't even get into to the top 10 pages. I checked all the key words and I can't figure this one out. Got any ideas?

That's a great vantage point for taking that photo, William!  And a neat history lesson about San Diego Fleet Week as well. They also have Fleet Week in San Francisco.  I have never attended and should remedy that.  However, I have been to Sea Fair in Seattle, which I imagine is a similar event.

Hi Myrl, Maybe Judi Boad will pick up the hint and bring us a great photo story. There still aren't that many doing these photo stories, especially of upcoming events but I think the two of us are doing pretty well!
