You Like Thunderous Racetracks? Check Out Placerville Speedway
There are many local residents who have never been to Placerville Speedway but have heard of it. I mean they have HEARD of it. It is the racing season here in Placerville which means every Saturday night you can hear the thundering racers for miles away.
Located in the Placerville Fairgrounds, this season is the 44th Anniversary of the Speedway. The track is home to several different classes of the sprint car. If you are a fan of the sprint car races, this is the premiere track on the West Coast.

Tom, Growing up in Louisiana used to go to a 1/2 mile dirt track some weekend nights. Definitely LOUD, and definitely entertaining. You just never knew what would happen next!
I've been through Placerville many times but this is the first time I've ever heard of a speedway there. Thanks for letting us know as there are a lot of us that are racing fans.

Tom: I have never been to a SPeedway. but it sounds like a lot of fun.
Thank you for showing a SPRINT car rather than a SPRINT CUP CAR which is confusing since Winston Cup became Nextel Cup begat Sprint Cup...
4X NASCAR Sprint Cup Champ Jeff Gordon started on dirt tracks as did many of the older NASCAR stars!
Bliz - It is fun to watch. We've learned that if you get too close, you will catch some mud!
Anne - It was much different than what I first expected.
Wallace - Jeff Gordon is older? :) I have heard that the dirt tracks are where many got their start.

If you lived near by, you would have heard Doug. :)
