Best Practices For Real Estate Means Constant Growth in all Technology and Techniques

The best practice for real estate and all other professions is to keep an open mind for constant growth in knowledge, tools, connections, technology and techniques, etc.    The tools and technology for real estate are constantly changing.   The agents that do not stay in touch with the new tools will be left behind.

There are always posts on Active Rain that are full of new information about the new tools of the industry, and even usually instructions included in the posts on how to best use them.   First the Blackberry, then the iPhone, then the iPad2, then the QR Codes, Google Plus, etc....    There are constantly new tools and technology to learn.   The agent that utilizes none of these will be left behind.    iPad2

What I found last week at a listing presentation that trying to utlilize these new tools and technology, even if not totally proficient at it, is a good start.   To bring information fresh off the internet, to show a client what they need when the question arises, is so much better than bringing a canned polished presentation in print.  It does not need to be perfect, but if you have the tools and technology with you to access information, it sure is impressive and helpful.

I just bought a new iPad2 a week ago.  I worked hard to have a nice presentation for this client.   It went beautifully. The client then asked some questions that began to take the conversation in a new direction, with new research needed.   Without the iPad2 and my new tools and technology, there would not have the classy presentation, and certainly not any extra research!

Keep Growing, and Stay in Business!

Pat and Wayne,       You are so good with all of your added knowledge and value to your clients!

Brian - You are so right!    It takes work to stay ahead, but that is where you should be!  I know an agent that doesn't have email - how does she do business?

Leah - It is a quick pace, and getting faster every day!  You are always on top!

I use Keynote on my iPad for listing presentations. I wish the screen was bigger, but it serves the purpose and beats lugging around a laptop.

Will - I will never go back to a regular presentation again!

Gene, you sweetie!   Huge improvement, and so easy to add to as time goes on and things change.

Charita - I think the presentation is better on the iPad than on the laptop - sharper!

Dagny you are absolutely right, if we are not keeping up with the change and the new tools available to us, then we will be a a disadvantage in performing what we do.

Ann-  I also learned that you can set up what you need to look at before you leave wifi, and it is still there to peruse when you are out and about.   So, I have been setting up a map before I leave and using it as the best GPS!   Also, if you want to just do a presentation, there is no reason for internet connection, which is nice.
