@ Peter - My question is, "Why not for all listings?"  I feel the lower end properties benefit the most as the buyer pool is generally larger and the competition less likely to compete at this level.

Its very difficult to get an agent to pay for photos in a home of this price - at least around here.  I find that if it is lowere than $500k - the sellers best hope at getting good photos is to hire an agent who is also a photographer.   Some brokerages are hiring companies that do what I call "cattle call photography" which they reason is "good enough" to do the job.  I agree that although the seller is unlikely to make a large premium on a lower end sale, a well staged home will attract more buyers and therefore a slightly higer price.  But more important than that - a FASTER sale with less muss and fuss.  If you get several offers, you can go with the buyer that has the best terms.
