Graduation at Ft. Huachuca & My Run-In With the LAW

Today I went to Fort Huachuca to go to my youngest brother's graduation.  I was managing my time very well (rare for a Realtor, I know) and I arrived at the base at 10:35.  Graduation was at 11:00 AM.  Unfortunately, the security on base would not let me enter.  I really am a law abiding citizen, but apparently I am not up to military standards.  The registration on my car is lapsed.  Hey!  I haven't gotten paid for 3 months and so it will have to wait one more week until I get my check.

I'm not sure how this is a threat to our national security, but for some reason it could be.  Foolishly, I thought it would be helpful to tell security that I was paying it next week, but haven't been able to renew my registration yet.  They didn't care at all what I was telling them, nor did they even listen to me.  These guys were focused only on the FACT that my registration appeared to be lapsed.   In fact, the first security agent called to his friend and asked him to run my registration.  I think that the friend was trying to be nice to me because he actually came over and gave me the choice of whether I wanted him to have the MPs (Military Police) run my registration.  If they ran it then they would come get me and take me to the MP station AND give me a ticket.

I, being a single woman, did have a fleeting moment of wondering whether it might be kind of fun to go hang out with the MPs.  However, I made a very sound financial and time management decision and opted to leave the base.  All was not lost however.  I called my mom and she and Dad came and got me and my two kids and took us onto the base in their car.  So I discovered that I am not the threat to national security, but my car is.  LOL

We made it to the graduation about 3 minutes late so we had time to sit through plenty of talking.  All in all, the graduation wasn't bad.  It was over in 58 minutes.  It was humorous to me that during the graduation my mother suddenly panicked and said, "I can't see Timothy!  Maybe we're at the wrong graduation!!"  How many graduations are held on one base at one time??  Poor Mom!  I think she was a little stressed from trying to find the place.  Here are some photos.

Wow...I never knew a car could pose such a threat. :-P  I love the mountain pics you have as well as the one of Dad and Josiah.  I don't think Mom will be very happy with that one of her though. :-)
