5 on a bellI stole this first part from Maureen Francis:

Jay memed me today.  I am supposed to tell you 5 things you don't know about me and then I get to tag 3 of you to go do the same.  Jay's doing a wrap up when we are done.

So, here I go with 5 pieces of trivial stuff about Maureen Francis. oooops Maureen McCabe.   Isn't that sorta how Kristal's plagiarizer got caught?

1.  I don't know left from right unless I hold my hands up.   North, south, east and west are easier for me... until  it's cloudy or it get's darkkkkk.  Oooooh... that brings up number two.

2.   I am scared of the dark.  My eyes usually shut closed tight and I freeze if the lights go out or if I walk into someplace dark.  I get scared out in the country because it is darker... I like a nice suburban glow... I have backpacked, camped out under the stars (no tent)... but I am scared of the dark.

3.  I often wear children's shoes, boys or girls......

4.  I grew up a brunette in a family of red heads.  Clairol and I changed all that...actually I have gone back and forth but it's been red for over a decade now...Of six kid, four red heads, I have a brother who has brown hair... he's never once dyed it.

5.  This could explain everything about me,  my parents are cousins.  Not first or even second... two brothers came over from Ireland... generations later shirt tail relatives were married, totally legal... totally safe other than red headed kids with freakishly small feet.

I tag Lenn Harley, Elaine Reese and Scott... I need someone named Scott to go with my title.... hmmmmm

Scott Gormley

How do we know when we are done for Jay to do a wrap up?

edit there is a list on Jay's blog... and I like many others am meming (?) tagging three more.

1. Chris Drayer (Chris is the one in the picture with the baseball hat), MF told me so.

2. Teri Lussier

3. Dan Grammatica

I don't think we will ever be done until we have all 11,000 members.  But maybe it will get some newbies blogging.

I'm so flattered that you liked my compelling prose.

Golly-kids' shoes?  You must have an easy time finding shoes on sale...

Yes, MM's feet are really, really tiny! I'm envious.

Just got home. Angus tagged me too, so what do I do?

I think Elaine handled things very well, of course Maureen was getting ready for dinner when she saw that I tagged Elaine BUT my wife was standing in the doorway, dressed and waiting to leave, as I was typing my list... saying..."just a sec hon..."

See Elaine, we all want you!

Jim Lee must still have the sequined stilettos which is OK because I don't wear heels often. I used to. When I graduated from college and worked in retailing the department store carried size 5 shoes, they could not sell them so I bought them off the clearance rack with a big employee discount. Most stores don't carry 5's anymore, so that is why I wear kids shoes for casual.  Lee I don't find a lot of shoes on sale, well sneakers with Barbie Doll or cartoon characters.  I have bought kids boots (rubber boots) over the years but the last pair I don't know why I did not notice in the store they are really too small for my legs.  They aren't tight but they brush against my legs and are irritating. My legs are heavier than a kids. DUH!

Great prose Maureen F. I was not dressed (clothed, just not for dinner), no make-up and we were supposed to leave in 5 minutes.

Elaine did handle it well!

I hope newbies will blog when memed... I was afraid to pick someone who has not blogged....

MM: Well, your "5" says a lot! My feet are large enough to support - Oh, never mind.

Jay:  I would have to take this entry "Members Only" if I disclosed my mother's shoe size.... she is my same height.

Great support.....

Fool me once...

I went to check first!

I know which one Chris is.  I talked to Chris on the phone... I meant to blog about an agent in my office (who is an inactive Active Rainer) being thrilled with Chris's companies product and talking about it at our sales meeting last Tuesday...   Our manager (who is also an inactive Active Rainer ..vowed when he joined that he would not participate..on Active Rain) showed Chris's companies product and where it is on our Business Center...(our company intranet I work for an "awesome brokerage." ) It is hard sometimes for us to know about wonderful products like what Chris's company offers because there is so much on our Business Center.

Maureen - fun stuff to read about you!!  I have a problem telling my right from my left.  I used to have to always set the table when we were growing up, and my mom would come along behind me and reverse the silverware if we were having company because I always had it on the wrong side - now I have to stop and think about which hand I write with before actually telling someone to turn left or right, etc.

I think this meme stuff is fun because you get a chance to read things about people that you wouldn't ordinarliy have the opportunity to find out.

Maureen M.   ... scared of the dark, but camping outside. I guess if there are a lot of stars out or a full moon, it makes it easier.

And I guess we could stick both of your shoes and put them in my one shoe.  ;o)   Thanks for sharing....  this is fun.

Ann: if don't pay attention the silverware is backwords. I did it wrong a couple of weeks ago.

Jeff: Stars and moon help

Karen: I am 5th (?)  generation in America...from the McCabe part of my family but my father is only 1/2 Irish. My mother is all Irish... so that makes me and my siblings 75%?  It is hard to trace ancestry that far back in Ireland and I have ancestors from a number of counties, it is confusing.

Hi Maureen...When you come from a family where the average height is around 6'5, you can bet that the shoe sizes match. ..and we are 100% Irish..well  there could be a few "big feet" in there. HoHo.

Hello Maureen, I was meme'd today and just doing my research before responding. I only want to reveal all that is necessary. My wife is a redhead (love redheads) but our 2 daughters are not. But one grandson is  as red as he can be, wants to play for Notre Dame and would he fit the part!  He loves Ohio State too!                 Future Irish!        What do you think?

It's ok by me, he is young, he will grow up to love Ohio State!!! Hahaha      BTW, that is his bedroom!!!

Regards, David

I think Notre Dame is a great school... but then I am a Badger not a Buckeye... his hair is beautiful.

Good luck on your meme.

I think the Notre Dame seal is classy. I am kinda partial to the little gieen Fightin Irish guy though...

P.S. do you realize by putting the link to your website in the comment you've made the comment into comment spam?  Read Colleen K's recent  blog entry about comment spam, ActiveRain guidelines,  Your name below the comment is obviously a link to your profile which would certainly have a link to your website, which is really the only way that is "Kosher"  to leave a comment here or out on in the blogophere.  We used to have the ability to edit comments that had links in them but our only choice now is to delete a comment where someone has inserted a link to their website, another blog, etc.  Links are welcome if they carry on the conversation, for example some bloggers (but not all)  would allow a link to a meme entry.   The more members slide in a link or two promoting themselves or linking to their business endeavors the less likely you will see bloggers to accept a comment with a link to anything.

I'd appreciate if you could remove it as it is against AR Guidelines. Thanks

I was looking at my first blog entry here the other day.  I think Kristal Kraft had a link in her comment and I think I probably did it too on other ActiveRain blogs when I was new. I probably used to do it out in the blogophere too.

When Charles Richey and a few others starting saying it was comment spam on ActriveRain  I did not get it at first... but it finally sunk in.  There is always concern it will look like a link farm, or spammy and that Google won't smile on AR anymore. I think that is just a scare tactic mostly.  We do need to respect one anothers blogs because we are all networked here.
