Divorce Or Separation & Short Sale -- Will Lender Accept ? Los Angeles
If you or someone you know is going through a separation or divorce in the Los Angeles area and there is a home involved, a Short Sale may be an option. If the house is worth less than the balance that is owed on the mortgage, your lender might accept a Short Sale. Divorce and Separation would be a reason for the mortgage company to approve the sale.
I have had clients that are going through a difficult time and unfortuately, would not be able to keep the property by themselves. If you are separated but it is not a legal separation, there are still ways to show the lender the situation. I have successfully closed a short sale in the Los Angeles area with short sellers in such a position.
If you have been divorced and have tried to maintain the home by yourself but it is not working, then your lender may accept the short sale of your home. Divorce is difficult, but the Short Sale of your home does not have to be. Feel free to contact me any time.
