Howdy,

I am new to this arena, I have just started a Real estate website and launched it into the world wide web. I've been working with Realtors for the past 3 years as customer support for a major web design firm. I have decided to put my knowledge to the test and launch my own site. It feels very different to have the shoe on the other foot. My site is http://www.yucaipahomesource.com and it invokes most of the ideas that I've gleened over the years of working on real estate websites.

The main thing I have learned is that hubris is fatal. I am really just starting in these waters so any advise would be super fantastic.

Try these groups Blogging & SEO , The Art Of Marketing You , Online Marketing - Tips, Advice, Wisdom , e-PRO Internet Technology . these are just a few groups I have found to be of great worth. There are so many to choose from it can get overwhelming to me. Hi! Welcome to the site. I recommend that you read, read, read and then comment, comment, comment. There are so many different blogs to read. There are tons of topics out there from real estate, marketing, technology, seo, staging, mortgage, etc. It goes on and on. Find topics you like (in the groups) follow those for a little while, start to find certain writers you like. Comment on their posts. You'll start to get to know people and before you know it... you'll have figured out the benefits of the site. Also reciprocate your comments. Consider posting blogs with content for consumers. Those are included on localism.com. So you could write about your area or about things you know in real estate or related etc. Also check out Resources for the Active Rain Newbie.
