Fort Belvoir is located just nine miles north of Woodbridge.  The post was once home to the Army Corps Of Engineers, but it is now home to numerous Department of Defense (DoD) tenants. such as Army Intelligence Command, and Defense Logistics Agency, just to mention two.

The base is bisected by US Highway 1.  North post is where the tenant activities are located.  South post has the new hospital, some base housing, the NCO and Officer's clubs.  

The Officer's club is set atop a bluff that looks out over the Potomac River, giving you a spectacular vista from the glass-walled main dining room.

Woodbridge neighborhoods are popular places to live because you get a lot of home for your money compared to the neighborhoods surrounding the post, and the commute is reasonable.
