Ah, just looking back at the photo's and realized you actually already indicated the event is put on by the Saddlebred Assoc!  (Morgans or Saddlebreds - they are all beautiful!) Have a great rest of week, my friend!

Marge, I can see why you are going to be busy this weekend!  I hope you can spend a little time at both shows.   I like the two charities that this show is supporting.  Is that the same horse in pictures two and three?   He is gorgeous although he makes my black Arabian stallion seem petite and fine boned.  His mane and tail are so thick.......  I'm drooling.

What is a roadster horse/pony?

Have a great weekend.

Karen,

There are classes for Morgans, but I didn't have a readily available photo of a black Morgan and was sort of on a black horse kick today.

First horse is an American Saddlebred.  One of our finer inventions!

Second is an Andalusian (PRE, Pura Raza Espanol)Once war horses, (in the days of knoghts in armour and full metal jousting) more recently bullfighting horses, a National Treasure of Spain and Portugal.  Stunning airs above the ground and collected dressage movements are natural expressions for these guys.  .

Third is a Friesian.  Rebecca likes him.  Awesome carriage horses, some people ride them, I find that wonderful extended trot pretty miserable to sit but magnificent to sit behind.

Steve, I love horses.  Not all these images are mine..

Sondra, Here is a photo of an Andalusian Stallion that lives in my 'hood.  Mane to die for!

Mane to die for!  Your fine boned Arabian will be going strong, 50 miles after the Andalusian and Fresian have packed it in for the day.

Roadster horses or ponies (there are classes for both and they are measured for height to determine class placement) pull a racing bike or sulky, and trot or pace at great speed in the ring.  Fun to watch, more fun to do. Make vacation plans for this time next year and come stay with us (well , sleep here) and attend horse shows.  We have a great polp match tomorrow also.  I am torn.,....
