Getting Framed #4 (a 4 part series)

By
Real Estate Agent with Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty

For those of you who've been following this series, here is one of my favorites. They get bigger and require a little more skill, but worth it, the results are great.

Find some of your favorite photos, vacation images work great, as do anything you really love. Like I said previously, you need computer software or a program to alter a photo. Here are some photos I manipulated with a watercolor type finish. They look like paintings.

Now let me ZOOM IN!

It works with any photo; people, pets, water, landscaping. What works                                                                                                                                                best is  images with contrast and a lot of details.

BEFORE & AFTER (in actual size more detail is seen)

YOUR POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!

Print them larger, the largest you printer can handle or put the image on a CD and bring to a local store like Staples or Kinkos to print your desired size.

An 8 1/2 by 11 can be double matted and put into a larger frame. Larger prints can also be matted and framed even larger for grand impact.

Here is an image start to finish. The effect in the middle may be hard to see at this reduced size. Enjoy the complements you will receive!

Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

Dear ALL, Barbara, Ginny, Josh, Dorie, Debbie

I did this Italian series for my family business a Pizzeria! We get a lot of comments asking who did the paintings, ME OF COURSE! I also used many of these images on their menu but in a sepia tone(I'll show that one day in a blog about the Pizzeria). I encourage you all to try....they look real when printed big and on quality paper. Those with whites and contrasting details really pop!

Ellen, Pretty cool what can be done with just a few clicks of a mouse and the right software.  Framing some of our own photos is something we need to do more of.

Donna, my new one comes from my years of experience as a package designer, hope you'll like it.

My Charlottesville friend, take that trip and don't forget the camera!

Malcolm, I am a fan of him and also watercolors, I paint myself, but sometimes details like this would take forever to achieve.

Valerie, I do love the shots I've taken in Italy, but I enjoy manipulating them even more, and making them special and frameable.

Thanks for the tip on Fotosketcher!
