Oh Happy New Year

With the new year I hope you have set new goals for this year that are above & beyond last year's goals (that you achieved also - right?).

That being said please make them

1) reasonable

2) attainable

3) motivating

3) an improvement from past years

4) balanced

5) positive

For instance if you make a goal to make $250,000 this year - that's probably reasonable. It's up to YOU if it's attainable, sounds definitely motivating, possibly an improvement (I know to many that would be going down), balanced? well that depends upon what your other goals are & yes positive for sure. But now that financial goal needs to be broken down into weeks/days to listings & buyers & to contacts. Focus on the daily tasks needed to accomplish your goal so it doesn't seem so large of a feat. Next, check in with your goals at least monthly, are you on track? ahead? behind? Adjust accordingly.

Happy New Year - Lucky 2007 will be our year!

p.s. do any of you get your children involved? Since my son was 2 we've done this every year - 5 goals for each & we look that them again to see how it went. It's a lot of fun. This year I added 3 each that we wanted for each other. Very interesting what your children will say :)

Susan,

Nice blog post.  I also wanted to tell you I visited your site and like what I saw.  It was refreshing to be on a real estate site that had warmth.  What I mean by that is I could tell a person wrote the content and it was not a pre-packaged deal.  Way to go.
