Photoblogging

Pink Cymbidium Orchid

This is just a simple photo of a grouping of Pink Cymbidium orchids and while we have all seen them throughout our lives, capturing them digitally can add lots of interest in a blog post. Some photobloggers  use photos and titles only but where I think it makes the biggest difference are in local posts that shares interesting aspects of the community related to the photos. Can a simple flower be relevant in a post. Most assuredly.

One of our outstanding fellow bloggers, Roy Kelley Roy Kelley loves flowers and shows more varieties than most of us have ever seen. He and his wife go out of their way to visit important flower gardens and botanical displays near their markets and captures so many varieties, colors and hybrids.

Roy has this wonderful ability to tie his love of flowers and makes them relevant to many of his blog posts.

I suggested a few times that Roy begin organizing his massive collection to publish in a book. I hope he does because Roy's floral and botanical collection is simply amazing and I have never seen one larger or more varied in specimens.

Hi Myrl, What were you doing up so early, :-) Roy's collections are amazing. You are so right. I have never seen many of the varieties of blooms that he captures. Audobon of Flowers indeed. Great title and very well earned.

Good Morning Al and Peggy,

I hope one day he will consider it. His collection is just amazing. It would be a great coffee table table book.

William,

This is a wonderful post and kudos to you for acknowledging Roy's photos.  We all enjoy them and I think you are right about suggesting a book to him.

On another note, I love your posts also, and I look forward to your accomplshed photography.  I also think that blogs with phots are much more appealing to read...sometimes a photo communicates the essence of the blog and leaves a lasting memory.  A

William, both you and Roy are a real inspiration with your photoblogging.  Sometimes when I look at a particularly interesting plant or flower I often think you would both enjoy them too.

Hi Mona, There is a funny thing that is also ironic. It is you who have so many times been the inspiration! So I am sure I can speak for Roy when I say, Thank You!

William, both you and Roy do a wonderful job of creating the true essence of photoblogging.  So, I felt your using his photo in this particular post was wonderful.

I agree with you...adding beautiful photos from our local areas makes post much more interesting to read and write for that matter.

Have a great week.  Sondra

William, when I see either your flower photos, or Roy's, I always think of both of you...as you truly capture the essence of beauty in each individual bloom (and Kristine Ginsberg as well). The sharpness and clarity of each closeup of all three of your ongoing photos is splendorous for those of us who haven't gotten quite there yet!

And Roy is EXCELLENT with his localism posts, as you are.
