Temecula Safest City

Temecula named

second safest

city in the

United States

Harveston Homes

*Temecula Crime Statistics, were based on the result of FBI calculations of violent crimes reported in 2010. Search for Temecula homes on my website.  Business Insider, complied a list of the 13 safest cities in America.

The report was based on FBI statistics that used the number of reported, violent crimes per each 100,000 residents.

The first safest city in America was Irvine, California.  Temecula is also known for it's highly rated schools, beautiful Temecula vineyards and Temecula wineries, as well as the hot air balloons that hover over the Temecula Valley every morning!

*If you are asking yourself where is Temecula?, click the link. to see a detailed map.  Temecula borders North San Diego County, California!

Here's the rest of the list (first 10) of safest cities according to the report:

 1. Irvine, California

 2.Temecula, California

 3.Carey, North Carolina

 4.Murrieta, California - (Border's Temecula)

 5.Gilbert, Arizona

 6. Round Rock, Texas

 7. Frisco, Texas

 8. Simi Valley, California

 9.  Belleview, Washington

10. Orange, California

.

Temecula hot air balloonsCityRating.com has the following crime statistics for Temecula.

CityRating.com which caluclates crime statistics for cities across the united states said that Temecula was lower than the violent crime rate in California by 83.61% and the city property crime rate in Temecula was lower than teh property crime rate in California by 12.96%.

* Bill Carter who is an FBI spokesman in Washington, D.C., warned against comparing cities using the bureau’s annual Uniform Crime Report data.

Bill Carter called such comparisons “simplistic and incomplete” and said they don’t take into account many variables affecting crime rates, such as population density and residents willingness to report crime.

Thank you, Sarah and Lester

Gary, Thanks for stopping by!

Kathleen:  Thank you for the support and comments!

Dee Dee:  Unless it is robbery with a gun it is not considered a "violent" crime!

Joan:  Thank you very much!

Ann:  Yes, they have a bad list as well!

Ralph:  Thank you for commenting!

Endre:  Thanks for noticing I have been blogging for years and thank you for being a faithful follower and always commenting!

Norman:  I re-cycled this post and added a link to current stats as well.  The stats now match what they did in 2010.  Whenever stats are published they usually take a year or two to come to the surface.  I believe the original article by Business Insider was 6/11.

Tamra:  Thank you for your nice comment!

You have a lot to be proud of for your city of Temucla. Crime is a most important part of what real estate sales take into consideration and than schools. It seem you have both handeled preety well. I love those hot air baloons.

Sometimes with bad press and interpretation its easy to see how a city or state gets tainted. nice to see the stereotype is not only a misconception but the exact opposite and to see that many cities in your state in the top ten deserves big props

That's a great idea to promote your city as one of the safest in the US.  Backing it up with FBI statistics adds credibility.

We don't have many cities and 108 small towns where crime on the state average is 4th lowest. Not living in fear makes for happier campers. Lower insurance and less need for police, security protection too.

I was introduced to Temecula in 1983, my wifes Dad had a place in Anza, so we'd drive through Temecula to get to it.  There was one traffic signal and a few stop signs, and we'd breeze through the sleepy town.  But now it takes a while to get through the town, depending on how many Red Lights we hit.  It sure has grown.

Joan:  Thank you for the nice comment!

Charles:  Don't believe everything you hear on the news.  California is not one be Los Angeles, it's has many, many suburban communities, ranch communities, and vineyards in both Southern and Northern California. I did not even get to the beach towns....negativity about California is only a very small part most of California is beautiful and yes, safe tranquil and lovely, lovely weather!

Laura:  Or at least come for a visit! :)

Jennifer:  Thank you for stopping by my blog.  I enjoy your blog about your beautiful area as well.

Pam:  Here's wishing both of us great success in our lovely area of Temecula.  I know you stive to provide excellent service to your clients as well!

Marco:  Temecula and Murrieta does have rural areas as well as well as newer subdivisions and a lot of ranch homes, with avocado groves, vineyards and of course wineries.  Thank you for your comment!

Andrew:  Thank you, the article was originally written by Business Insider, that's where I saw it.

Andrew:  In a state like Maine, they have to take into consideration, "Counties", or like you did the entire State.  I agree with you that safety is a valid concern for residents.

Debbie:  Thank you and I'm glad you have been here, you can tell Charles above that it is a safe place first hand as I don't think he believes me! ;)

Raymond:  It's nice to have you comment about they way Temecula has changed.  I have been here since 1989 and know what you mean.  I agree the traffic has increased greatly.  I can remember when there was only one stoplight as well.  And only one fast food restaurant.....the Del Taco on Jefferson....that was it!

Brian:  Murrieta is right next to Temecula, so not really a surprise, and Orange California is rural as well.  Thanks for stopping by and glad you have had a chance to visit Temecula!
