I was recently looking through some old photographs and came across the one below of Rocky, my lab-mix, at the community pier at Riva Trace in Annapolis Maryland. Many neighborhoods around Annapolis Maryland have community piers, beaches, and boat ramps. A few also have community tennis courts, basketball courts and swimming pools. Riva Trace, located on Ginger Cove, has excellent amenities, especially the community pier (pictured below).
Rocky prefers larger soccer balls over tennis balls any day, but, on the community pier he loved to play catch, not fetch. No matter where you live in Riva Trace, you're never more than a short distance from some open space, the fishing and crabbing pier, the tennis courts or the basketball court. Riva Trace Parkway is a divided road with green space in the middle and wide sidewalks running along both sides. It's nearly a half mile in length, so it's a great mile long walk round trip for people with or without their pets. The trek to the community pier takes you "off road" down a gentle path through the trees and past the bamboo grove. It's a wonderful walk almost any time of the year.
So, if you're looking for a place to live in a residential neighborhood that's dog friendly with sidewalks and trails where you can take your dog on short or long walks, then you've found it at Riva Trace in Annapolis Maryland.
