Worthington home prices are up and down...  the sale price of a home in the Worthington school district is up from last year.  The average sale prie is down from last month, but you can see that in the graph.  This graph shows home prices of single family, resale homes in Worthington schools for the past 15 months.  The green line shows the average price of a single family resale home in Worthington City Schools for the past 15 months.  The "for sale" or list price is down.  The red line, the average sale price of a single family resale home in the school district is down from April 2012 but up from a year ago.

  • Average for sale price - $237,000
  • Average sold price - $221,000


May 2012 single family resale home sales in the Worthington City School Distrct were down 16.9% from a year ago (pending sales look good so perhaps closings were delayed.)  The number of homes for sale in the school district was down 14.2% from May 2011 (not as low as other areas.)

The $237,000 average sale price of single family resale homes in Worthington schools in May 2012 was down 4% from a year ago and down 1.7% from April 2012.

The average single family resale home's sale price of $221,000 in Worthington schools in May 2012 was up 3.3% from last year.  That average price is down, 4.3% from April 2012. For the past three months (March to May 2012) single family resale home prices are up 2.8%.

The Worthington City School District in northern Franklin County includes homes in the cities of Columbus and Worthington, the village of Riverlea and unincorporated areas in Sharon and Perry Townships.

Though your market is bouncing, it points towards many other markets around the country in that the trends are heading towards inventory going down and sales beginning to trend upwards. A lot of oscillation though. It would be interesting to me to know about the areas industry, jobs, job growth (or decline) etc. We're fortunate in the greater Seattle area right now with new Boeing contracts, the 737MAX and the 787 Dreamliner, and several other industries growing. Yet, like most places, we have mixed blessings. Many are doing exceptionally well, and many are still really having a hard time.

I read something about jobs locally last week.  In Columbus we are often ahead of the rest of the state in recovery.  They used to say Columbus was recession proof .
