Inspired by "Midnight in Paris"

Recently, my book group read The Paris Wife, Paula McLain's novel about Earnest Hemingway's first wife, Hadley, and their time in Paris.  We also read The Sun Also Rises, which Hemingway wrote during that period.

Friday, my next door neighbor brought over her DVD of Midnight in Paris, and we watched it with a third book buddie.  The scenes of Paris are just amazing, and made me want to start packing now for my September trip.  Since I do have to wait a few days, I checked into I-Photo and revisited some of the shots I took on my birthday trip three years ago.  These are two of my favorites.

I mean, look at the details on the sidewalk bench and the light poles!  And can't you just hear that French accordian music?

The last photo of the two men playing accordians, seems so wonderfully quintessential.  I'm convinced that you can't truly be an artist or a poet unless you've done a stint in Paris:-)  However, if I were in search of an exquisite muse, I'd head for Milan, Barcelona or Madrid:-)

Hey everyone!  Thank you so much for your comments.  And Steve thank you for the feature!

When we go, I want to find the place where the car picked him up and see what happens at midnight!  It would be fun to meet Scott and Zelda!
