Chalk It Up - 20th Annual Pasadena Chalk Festival

This past weekend was the 20th annual Pasadena Chalk Festival. Held at Paseo Colorado, it was reported in the Pasadena Star News that the two day event brought in more than 100,000 to view the creations of approximately 600 artists creating their work under the sun. In 2010, the Guiness World Records recognized the temporary display as The World’s Largest Street Painting Festival.

Liz and Bill -- it is pretty incredible, isn't it? It was reported that more than 25,000 sticks of chalk were used during the event.

Hi Dick -- these type of community events are what makes Pasadena such a great place to live, play and visit. Some of the artwork that has been created goes beyond anything I have ever imagined.

The World’s Largest Street Painting Festival and I can see why with such talent being displayed! Amazing my friend. I have no doubt it was a fun event to attend and a great way to spend a day checking out the handy work of 600 artist!

I was at an Arts and Crafts Festival this weekend and was discussing this type of art with my friend.........amazing the talent out there Michael. Love the ones that look like a swimming pool you can just dive right into.

Hi John -- isn't it great that so much talent exists? I certainly lack that gene!

Hello Roger -- our weekend mornings started off rather overcast but it quickly turn very warm by the afternoon so the idea of jumping into a pool sounds like a good idea -- though pretty painful in this case...you know that ol' mirage thing and all.

Hey Belinda -- Rain drops? Rain drops? You lived in California before -- you know it rains in Sunny Southern California --- but it has been known to pour. The birds were my favorite as well - interesting you chose that one as well.

Thanks, Will -- there were a lot of Father's Day weekend activities in Pasadena -- many options for people.
