 Do You Know My Name?

bird

Going to the zoo is a treat for me anywhere I travel. A recent trip to Denver with my daughter had me at the beautiful zoo there. Together we walked for hours enjoying all sorts of creatures big and small. Looking at my photos I was happy to have captured a photo of this beautiful bird. Unfortunately I did not get his name?

Good morning Janis -

I can't help you out with the name of this odd and unique looking bird.  I shall nickname it beauty :)  Glad you enjoyed your time with your daughter and hope you have a great Sunday in all you do my friend.

HI Janis, What a beautiful photo. I love the colors. There is an AR group called Birds. If you join the group and post this photo, maybe someone there will be able to identify this lovely bird. Enjoy your Sunday!

You've tapped into one of the nature photography "secrets." Instead of traveling to some far away locale to catch animals in the wild, go to the zoo and shoot the photo so that you can't tell from the background that you're at the zoo!

Barbara Jo ~ Just so unique to look at ...

Mark ~ Yes.. my zoom lens helps with the details being sharp and clear and in some cases I can be "face to face" with a tiger or a lion... and it looks like I'm on Safari! Going to the zoo is not just for kids!

Good Morning, Janis!

What a fantastic photo!  Although I don't know much about bird species ... I do know that my hair sometimes looks like that when I first wake up in the morning :)  Have a great Sunday!

Hi Janis,

It is a beautiful bird and has a nice Mohawk. This bird is called a Crowned Crane. It stomps it feet to get the insects out of the dirt for food. Also the cranes like to dance and if one starts, then they all start dancing together.

I love going to the zoo and see animals and reptiles that I had forgotten about. I always enjoy myself.
