When you renew your broker license, you need to update HUD registration, as well. For example, Missouri brokers have renewed their licenses through 2014 by now, but the HUD website does not know that fact. Even if their NAID number is current, the broker license expiration date on the HUD webpage will be out of date--as all Missouri broker license expiration dates are June 30.
Brokers must update their own credentials on the website before any of their agents can make offers on HUD properties, and the process must be repeated during each renewal cycle. As agent licenses reach expiration dates, they must also renew their credentials on HUDHomestore.
The process takes under five minutes, and it's important to repeat that this is IN ADDITION to the renewal of your NAID number.
Follow these steps to register your new license expiration date.
Log on to HUDhomestore.com, using your own credentials. Click on the word Login, highlighted in yellow below.
Fill in your user name and password (if you have forgotten either one, click on the appropriate link.
Go to the Manage Profile tab (click on the label)
Fill in the needed info. In the example below, I removed my security questions and answers (for obvious reasons), but yours will probably be pre-populated since you logged into the system. If the License Renewal section says 6/30/2012, you simply have to change it to 6/30/2014.
That's all there is to it! Now you, and your agents, are ready to make offers on HUD properties. Don't forget to remind your agents that they will need to go through the same process when their licenses renew.
