YouTube Thursdays continues after a week off for America's Birthday celebration. I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July holiday with your family and friends. I was in Denver and got to meet fellow AR members, Mimi Foster and Joan Cox. ( Both delightful women!)
Now, back to Youtube Thursdays. Several weeks ago, I talked with Cheryl Ritchie about making videos with an iPad. After a phone conversation, I sent a few links to help get her started, and obviously Cheryl jumped into her first effort quickly.
I think she is getting some guidance in this video from Steve and Jan Bachman - it showcases the importance of a tripod and moving s.l.o.w.l.y. By the way, Cheryl admits that it took her about 6 hours to get this produced.
The good news, with video production, = the more you do you it, the better you get, and more efficient too. A video takes me about an hour per minute to produce. (Including voice-work and music mixing.) Therefore, a 1:30 video takes about 1.5 hours.
Most of the video marketing experts suggest that videos should be short and entertaining, if we expect people to watch them - isn't that the goal? Therefore, I always try to shoot for videos between 1 to 2 minutes - max.
If you want to try movie making with your iPad, I suggest upgrading to iMovie11 and purchasing this easy to follow guide for $ 4.99, Tutor for iMovie 11. And of course, a tripod for your Ipad! Or go all out and get the iPad movie mount for your iPad 2 & 3.
