Talcott Mountain Music Festival, Music Under the Stars
Summer is the time of year when so many towns have concerts on the town greens for the benefit of the people that look for an evening out. Most are free.
For 5 nights in Simsbury CT, the summer concert isn't free, but that is more than offset by the special performances that are presented. The Talcott Mountain Music Festival consists of 5 consecutive Friday evenings with music provided by the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. The musical stylings are all different as the concert series had features of great American Composers for the July 4th weekend, the music of Elton John, a country and Western night and a night of big band dance.
We made the fireworks show for the fourth and the Elton John evening as well. We also made the final show, which was the Country and Western Music evening. The orchestra was again amazing, the performers were all renowned and the crowd clapped, danced and sang along.
There is nothing like spending an evening under a canopy of stars, while professionals offer up their Friday evenings to a few thousand of their closest admirers.
