Get Your IRS Transcripts(tax returns) Faster, for Your Mortgage!

On every mortgage, your IRS Tax Return Transcripts are needed.  These are official copies of the information on your tax returns from the IRS.  Every lender will order a copy for the client, but many times it can take weeks for the transcripts to show up.  Which can cause your closing to be delayed.  Here is a way to get them even quicker and keep your closing from being delayed.  These are the exact instructions for the buyer to order them:

• Go to www.house.gov
• On the Top Right – Under Find Your Representative Type Your Zip Code
• Type Your Address as shown on Your Tax Returns
•  “Click” Find Your Representative by Your Address
•  To the Left You’ll Find Your Representative
•  “Click” on his/her name and find the Phone Number to his/her Office

Call the office and let them know you are purchasing a home right now and need to get your tax returns expedited.  They will have you complete and return the “PRIVACY AUTHORIZATION FORM”.  Once you have returned the completed form your Representative’s office will assign an assistant within 24 hours.  Please let your Lender know when they have updated you on a status.  I have seen many examples where this process got the transcripts to the client in 2 days.
