maine real estate, for sale, land, budget property, buying with partners, mooers realty, monticello, houlton, aroostook, waterfrontYou make a good salary at the three jobs you hold down in either the Boston Massachusetts, Providence, Rhode Island or Hartford, Conneticut area.  You hate the traffic, fast pace, long hours. But between mortgage or rent, taxes, groceries, kids' braces, paying off school loans, that irs lien, your uncle's funeral, car payment and insurance (whew) ...where does all the money go? And to think about stepping out to buy some Maine lakeshore property? Not without a winning lottery ticket you think. Until now.

You have a large family. You have a burning desire to have a Maine property on a lake someday in your lifetime to spend time with the family a few times a year at least. Martin Luther King's three day weekend is coming...you could be planning Friday afternoon to climb on Interstate 95 and head north to a recreational property that you bought with your family members.  Set it up business like.  For example, say a twelve acre property on a large river is $22,000.  You split it seven ways with folks you are related to, work with or have been buddies with for years. Your share as ring leader with clearly stated rules of do's and don'ts could be a tad less for setting up the dream but figure even steven the normal roughly $3,140 share.  This is pretty cheap recreational entertainment.  Yes, you have gas getting here...and yes, you have not put up the structure but work with me here.

Amish buildings, cheap camps, cottages, maine, smyrna, aroostook, real estate, mooers realty, vacation, recreational propertyYou could buy an amish building like this pictured below for very very little money and they come in a slug of options. Just a shell but brand new.  Or you could build like one fellow we sold land to the walls for the camp or cottage in your door yard in southern New England like he did during the week. Then in a trailer, he pulled them up, bolted them together and voila! Or you see second hand, get it out of my yard please campers in sell, buy, swap guides thru out the nation.  Get one if you don't already own one, fill it with stuff you need for camp..usually odds and ends from home.  Between seven people, you will get your toaster, coffee maker, cots.  And remember your sister's husband is a union electrician and can wire the place, you swing a mean hammer and may not be a finished carpenter but hey...its a camp complete with screened door, open deck made out of 3rd and 4th stock cedar log pieces you get for a song from local Ward Cedar Log Homes Or Katahdin Cedar Log Homes that are here in Houlton, Maine anyway! This camp and land are bought on a budget.  You get water from the river.  You do a soil test and set up a privvy or real life non pressurized system with the help of another neighbor on your end who is a plumber and wants in for only $3,140 and his talents.  You can time share it rotating 4th of July, or rent it out carefully if none of you are using it this hunting or snowsledding season.  You can own easy but need "what if's" covered.  Could have your youngest brother, the new attorney fresh out of law school, draft a fair but detailed ownership agreement dividing how taxes are paid, what if you don't do your share, what if you die, what if you divorce kinds of protection for the rest of the gang.  Have we lost you yet or are you thinking maybe I can own Maine vacation or recreational property afterall with my wafer thin wallet?
