Connecticut Home Staging: From Country To Coastal Vintage Bathroom
One of the most important considerations in real estate is Location, Location, Location! If you are planning to sell your house, take into consideration its location. Present your house in a manner that reflects the best features of living in that area.
Properties located in the beach area of Fairfield, Connecticut are highly prized for their proximity to the many public beaches. As a result, they frequently command much higher prices than similar houses located further inland.
This charming Cape Cod-style house is located one block in from the Fairfield beaches; a prime location. However, little about the interior of the house said so. This house needed to tell Buyers, "You could be living at the beach!" at every turn.
This is how we turned the vintage powder room/laundry from Country to Coastal:
The Sellers had removed the original bathtub to create a laundry room. (There are two other full baths in the house.) While the sink and toilet had recently been updated, the vintage tile, black tile floor, and medicine cabinet were still intact. (The mirror on the end wall fills a space where a window used to be prior to a recent addition.)
With a minimal budget for paint and new doors, we worked with the vintage feel, but added some Coastal accents:
Ahhh, the magic of paint! The new shower curtain was the best find! The coquillage print says it all, yet it's not cutesy or kitschy. It has a toile-like appearance - very sophisticated.
Darker coastal tones were used here and throughout the house - not the beachy brights or pastels. The black-framed shell art and aubergine-colored candles now make that black floor WORK!
Love, love. love that shower curtain! It really made the room.
Stage your house to reflect the area! This Fairfield, Connecticut, house Staged by Nestings Home Staging, and priced right, SOLD in eight (8!) days!
