Bartlett Lake in Scottsdale Arizona is a perfect family getaway for Labor Day Weekend! 

Looking to fish, camp, boat, picnic or just play in the water at a lake in the Scottsdale or Carefree area?  Why not visit Bartlett Reservoir this weekend? The Bartlett Lake area is noted for the spectacular vistas of the desert mountains and the Sonoran plant life and wildlife. Much of the west side of the reservoir is devoted to camping and picnicking. When Bartlett Lake in Scottsdale Arizona is full, it is 2,830 acres with 33 miles of shoreline. The maximum depth is 174 feet and the lake is 12 miles long. The lake's water quality is really good - fed by the pristine waters of the Verde River. 

There is a marina at Bartlett Lake offering boat and jet ski rentals, a dock store, public store, live bait and fishing supplies, state-of-the art gas station and even a concierge service. There are public restrooms, too.

For residents and visitors in the northeast valley, Bartlett Lake Reservoir in Scottsdale Arizona is an easy drive - just 20 miles east of Carefree. From Carefree, take the Cave Creek Road/Forest Road (FR) 24 to the Barlett Road/Forest Road (FR) 19 junction. Turn right on this paved highway; it is 13 miles to the reservoir. From downtown Phoenix, Bartlett Lake is  48 miles. the newly engineeered, fully paved, scenic Bartlett Lake Road makes the drive down to the lake a scenic pleasure!

This morning we visited the Rattlesnake Cove Recreation site to enjoy the beach with the dogs and it is also perfect for fishing and picnicking. The Tonto National Forest Service takes a lot of pride in keeping the facilities clean - we even saw the cleaning service there bright and early this morning!
