Tutorials on writing a press release for your real estate business:

I recently wrote a press release regarding our company being selected above many competitors to represent the higly esteemed Admiral's House over on Magnolia in Seattle. I went back and referenced Active Rain for direction as it is not something I regularly do. Kerrie at ActiveRain did a very cool post a while back about writing press releases for our business. Lots of great information was provided including many FREE press release sites to submit yours to.

Lenn Harley wrote an excellent press release and then wrote another excellent post about writing the press release. She is a force to be reckoned with and you should heed her words when she says "Get That Press Release Out"!

When I was a broadcast news director used to get a slew of "news releases" that were not. Had to sort through. And glean. So many news outlets were rip and read and unless you made the AP or UPI wire service, a nuclear explosion in your home town would be missed until picked up. Making news on a Friday afternoon got you mileage over Saturday when news gathering crews are small and stretched into being aired Sunday and first thing Monday as left overs. Until the new news got generated. Nature of the business.

Courtney, we did a press release a while back on a new marina being built on a lake. We submitted it to all the newspapers in the area. A local newspaper picked it up and wrote an article for publication. It was good publicity and we got a lot of mileage out of it.

Michelle, you misunderstand I think. The listing is on the MLS. When I say private sale, I mean that a private party may purchase it versus public as in the Navy. This is a long time Navy property:) The client is very please with the press release and the other marketing - including the cover of the holiday issue of the Luxury Home Magazine for Seattle. Hoep that clears it up.
