I'm on a personal mission to only shop small and local this holiday season, my first stop to fulfill some of my girls' wishes was Howard County's best toy store, Mumbles and Squeaks Toy Shoppe.
Mumbles and Squeaks Toy Shoppe (love that name!) is located at 8133 Main Street, Ellicott City, MD and has been locally-owned and operated for 20 years. That speaks for itself! Four rooms on two floors are stacked with a great selection of board & card games, crafts & art supplies, Melissa & Doug toys, puzzles, playmobil ... in short "toys that spark the imagination and kindle creativity" [Frank, Mumbles and Squeaks].
I knew what I was looking for when I stopped by last week but I still went upstairs and back down and back up again because there is just so much to see! I purchased a few stocking stuffers, new board games and a beautiful fairytale puzzle for my 3-year-old puzzle whiz, the kind that you won't find at a big-box store.
