Working Together Helps Us All Out
It looks like Pasco County and the City of Tampa are going to try to work together again to finally connect Kinnan St. in New Tampa and Mansfield Blvd. in MeadowPointe. Currently Kinnan and Mansfield both dead-end on County Line Road. Previously either party have been able to come to terms regarding who is responsible for paying to finish to open to connect the two roads together.
The developer of Live Oak spent about $1 million to build the what is now a sore spot about 6 years ago and has been a dead end road unavailable for use ever since. The Kinnan extension was built to improve traffic in the New Tampa/Wesley area. It would alleviate some of the traffic along Bruce B Downs and also on Morris Bridge Road by giving travelers another alternative. On the Hillsborough side from Cross Creek Blvd on Kinnan down Mansfield is a straight shot to Hwy 56 to The Wiregrass Mall and of course, from Pasco, residents would have easier access to Hillsborough when traveling to work without using the other two main roads. It seems like a win/win for both counties. I'm sure once the road work on Bruce B is finished, the traffic will flow much smoother all around.
There is still a lot of details that need to be worked out on both sides as well as with the developer of K Bar Ranch, however I think at least that are talking right now and trying to work it out and hopefully they can work together to benefit us all. It seems like such a waste with that small spot of little road going no where that could help out in such a big way.
What do you think?
