The First Day of Winter

It's the first day of winter and the forecast high temperature in the Phoenix area today is 69 degrees.  Almost 70Poinsettia Tree degrees in December!  In contrast, many parts of the country are experiencing severe winter storms as seen in this NBC news story this morning.

WinterWhenever we hear about these stories we always ask "Why would anyone live there?"  Of course we know that not everyone has the option to pick up and move to a place where it's sunny almost every day of the year.  And, I get it, not everyone wants to.  We were lucky to have had that opportunity and we jumped at the chance six years ago.  We've been enjoying the pleasant winters every since.

It's at this time of the year as we prepare to travel home to spend some holiday time with family that we think more about the weather elsewhere and start tracking the weather and how it might affect our travel plans.  It looks like we're going to be o.k. as we head to the Pacific Northwest where they had snow earlier this week and it's expected to be more rain than snow for Christmas.

If you're tired of being cold all winter long, consider looking at homes for sale in the Phoenix area.  There are still great prices on homes all over the Valley.

Happy First Day of Winter and Happy Holidays!

Here's hoping that your travel plans won't be affected by the weather.

Cheers!
