Obama's Winter White House in Kailua

For the last 5 years or so, President Obama has been visiting Kailua for the Holidays. Below are a few pictures of where he has stayed. The first picture is a shot from my office. This is the security set up from the canal. The house is located inside this area of houses sitting on Kailua beach. I believe he still is renting this property when he visits along with several others in the Kailuana Beachside area for his family and security staff.

This stunning house is 4606 sq ft under roof, and on 24,202 square feet of land. It is a beautiful property. Before the president stayed there we called it "The Bali House" because of how it is designed and decorated. Since the president has been visiting every Christmas, we have renamed it "The Winter White House". The property sold in 2009 for $6,830,000.

I was showing properties yesterday and was excited to see the precession at the stop light. Got a glimpse of the president in his ball cap!

Very nice home... 20 million to the taxpayers to get him there though?

Dont know what the costs are. This is where his family lives and where he is from so he visits periodically to be with them.

For some reason, people think that he is on the Waikiki side and not on the Kailua side....I lived in Lanakai 35 years ago and I doubt it has changed too much....beautiful area

No, he definetly is in Kailua walking distance from my house. Lanikai probably has changed a bit but is still quaint and beautiful as ever. It's a tourist magnet because of the Mokulua Islands. You should come visit sometime :)

Aloha!
